Now Hiring: Educator and Herpetoculture Associate

INDEED POSTING

Are you passionate about wildlife, education, and inspiring the next generation of naturalists? The E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Educator and Herpetoculture Associate to join our team!

This full-time position offers a rare and rewarding opportunity to split your time between delivering hands-on nature education programs and caring for our herpetology collection. Each year, over 6,000 students visit the Biophilia Center from across the Florida Panhandle — and this role puts you at the heart of that mission.

What You'll Do Approximately half of your time will be spent leading and developing educational programs for school groups, public visitors, summer camps, and outreach events. The other half focuses on the daily care, husbandry, feeding, and health monitoring of our reptile and amphibian collection, along with training volunteers and maintaining records.

What We're Looking For We're seeking a self-starter with strong organizational and public speaking skills, experience working with live animals, and a genuine passion for conservation education. A valid driver's license and flexible availability — including some weekends and holidays — are required.

Compensation & Benefits Starting from $40,000/year · Full-time · Paid time off · Health insurance reimbursement · Simple IRA · Career development opportunities
